Description
This is a facsimile of a letter that George Washington wrote in response to a pastoral authored by Annis Boudinot Stockton (1736-1801). In her pastoral, Mrs. Stockton, a poet and widow of Founding Father Richard Stockton, praised Washington’s leadership during the Yorktown campaign, which resulted in the capture of a British army commanded by Lord Cornwallis.
