Description
At least two dozen young men from Westchester County assisted the cause of independence during the Revolutionary War by serving as guides to the American forces. Knowledgeable about the geography, roadways, and people of the county, these guides helped lead Patriot commanders and forces around the county. Frederick C. Haacker provides an overview of the services rendered by these men, who gained fame as The Westchester Guides.
